资源简介:
Parasitic nematodes like Haemonchus contortus cost the livestock industry billions of dollars every year through production losses and treatment costs. Parasite control in the dairy industry widely relies on eprinomectin, a drug that is not excreted in milk and hence, is licensed for use without withdrawal time. The growing prevalence of eprinomectin-resistant worm populations threatens milk production in certain area like France. To understand how parasite adapt to this drug, we have sampled and phenotyped three eprinomectin-resistant populations from French Pays-Basque. These populations were matched with three drug-susceptible isolates from the same location. Male and female worms from every isolate were subjected to RNAseq to delineate the transcriptomic differences owing to each drug susceptibility status. In addition, a pool of larvae was used for whole genome sequencing to investigate genome-wide allele frequency patterns in these populations.
