To investigate the effect of brownification on plankton communities, a mesocosm experiment using humic substances additions was done in three lakes simultaneously. To determine the plankton composition, the 16s rRNA was sequenced using illumine MiSeq. The 16s rRNA region was first amplified using the primer pair Forward primer: 341F, CCTACGGGNGGCWGCAG; and reverse primer: 805R: GACTACHVGGGTATCTAATCC.
