资源简介:
This dataset supports a qualitative study aimed at unpacking the social, structural, and relational factors that shape the vulnerability of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV in India. The dataset comprises de-identified transcripts of in-depth interviews (IDIs) conducted with AGYW aged 15–24 years from both community and clinic settings across Delhi and Mumbai. These interviews explore participants' experiences with early sexual partnerships, structural barriers to healthcare, social norms, gendered power dynamics, and access to information and services related to sexual and reproductive health. The study adopts an intersectional approach, focusing on how caste, class, gender, age, and marital status intersect to influence health-seeking behaviors and risk perception among AGYW. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview guide, transcribed verbatim, and translated where necessary. Scope: Population: Adolescent girls and young women aged 15–24 Geographic Coverage: Urban sites in Delhi and Mumbai Data Type: Qualitative (textual interview transcripts) Collection Method: In-depth interviews (IDIs) Themes: Sexual and reproductive health, gender norms, STI/HIV risk, intersectionality, healthcare access, social stigma Use This dataset is intended for secondary analysis in public health, gender studies, and development research. It can inform programmatic design, intersectional analyses, and policy frameworks focused on the health and rights of marginalized young women in urban India.
