Ancylistes closterii is an endoparasite of green algae (Closterium spp.) and belongs to the arthropod-associated fungal group, Entomophthoromycotina (Zoopagomycota). We sequenced its genome to determine its phylogenetic position by phylogenomics and to investigate its evolution in Zoopagomycota.
