RNA-seq analysis of wheat and barley Pm21-B1 transgenic lines

To understand the molecular basis underlying the resistance, we conducted RNA-Seq analysis by comparing the transgenic wheat and barley lines overexpressing Pm21-B1 to the wild-type recipients after inoculation with BgtE09 or with BghA6, respectively. The transgenic plants, and the recipient plants were cultivated until the first leave was fully expanded. Conidiospores of Bgt or Bgh isolates were inoculated onto leaf surface and samples were collected at 24 hpi. After RNA-seq library construction, transcriptome sequencing was carried out on a MGI2000 platform with the PE150 strategy at BGI Genomics Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China).
