Integrating Electronic Monitoring on Pollock Catcher Vessels using Pelagic Trawl Gear and Tender Vessels in the North Pacific Observer Program Final Environmental Assessment/Regulatory Impact Review for Proposed Amendment 126 to the Fishery Management Plans for Groundfish of the Bering Sea / Aleutian Islands Management Area and Proposed Amendment 114 to the Fishery Management Plan for Groundfish of the Gulf of Alaska

This Environmental Assessment/Regulatory Impact Review analyzes proposed management measures that would apply exclusively to pollock catcher vessels (CVs) using pelagic trawl gear and tender vessels in the North Pacific Observer Program. The measures under consideration include alternatives that would allow an electronic monitoring (EM) system to supplement existing observer coverage. The purpose of this action is to advance cost efficiency and compliance monitoring through improved salmon accounting and reduced monitoring costs.
