Smartphone-based applications for dendrometric measurement in peri-urban forest context of Nepal

This dataset contains tree-level measurements of diameter at breast height (DBH), height and plot level measurement of canopy measurements collected using both smartphone applications and manual reference methods across multiple forest stands. The study includes different stand types capturing a range of tree sizes and stand conditions.For each tree, the dataset includes:Observed DBH, height and canopy metrics measured manuallySmartphone measured DBH, height and canopy metrics Error metrics Stand-level information: plot ID, stand ageThis dataset is intended for validating and comparing smartphone-based measurement tools in forestry research, evaluating measurement accuracy, bias, and residual patterns, and supporting forest management and ecological monitoring applications.Format: CSV / Excel (long format with one row per tree per measurement method)Usage notes: Each row corresponds to a single tree measurement (plot for canopy). The dataset can be used to reproduce scatter plots, Bland–Altman analyses, and residual vs stand age plots as well as linear mixed models
