资源简介:
Data of woody regneration survey in the frame of Pilis Gap Experiment. The study was carried out in an oak-hornbeam forest in Hungary, in 2018-2024. Data were collected in four, artificially created gap types (large circular, large elongated, small circular, small elongated gaps) and in uncut control sites, in six replicates.
The number of fallen acorns was counted in a mast year (2020), in one 0.5 m x 0.5 m quadrat in the centre of each plot.
The number of sessile oak sapling was counted in four 0.5 m x 0.5 m tended quadrats per plot, at the norther part of the plot. Counting was carried out from 2019 to 2024, and percentage survival rate was calculated for each year.
The height of individually marked sessile oak saplings was measured on 30 saplings per plot, at the northern, tended part of the plots and height growth ws calculated for the period of 200-2024.
The height of the highest saplings was measured in one 2 m x 2m untended understory quadrats in the centre of each plot for the three most abundant woody species (Quercus petraea, Carpinus betulus, Cornus sanguinea) in 2024.
Relative direct and diffuse light were estimated by hemispherical photographs, and volumetric soil water content was measured by TMS-4 loggers.
