Global evolution, energetics and origins of auroral streamers

Precursor auroral streamers are important auroral phenomena usually observed prior to substorm onset, but their evolution during substorms is still not fully understood. Streamers evolve rapidly with a time scale of minutes and have a narrow spatial distribution, typically less than 0.5 hours in magnetic local time. Using a high-resolution (382×512×382 cells in the radial, polar, and azimuthal directions) global simulation model, we successfully reproduced streamers and calculated contributions to their patterns from precipitating electrons with different energy ranges. This dataset contains simulation results and calculation codes.
