资源简介:
This dataset contains de-identified individual-level data from an ambidirectional single-centre cohort study conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Haseki Training and Research Hospital, University of Health Sciences, Istanbul, Turkey. The study examined paired hormonal changes and current-state sexual, mood, and quality-of-life outcomes in 200 reproductive-aged women (21–39 years) with an etonogestrel 68 mg subdermal contraceptive implant in situ for 10–14 months.
STUDY DESIGNPre-insertion hormonal values were retrieved retrospectively from the hospital electronic medical record. The index visit (clinical examination, structured questionnaires, and follow-up hormonal sampling on menstrual cycle day 2–3) was performed prospectively, generating an ambidirectional cohort design.
DATASET CONTENTSThe dataset includes the following variables for 200 participants:- Demographics: age, height, parity, education, employment- Anthropometric measures: weight (pre/post), BMI (pre/post)- Symptom checklist: complaints during first 6 months and persistent at 12 months- Menstrual pattern at index visit (self-reported)- Patient-reported outcomes: PHQ-9 (9 items), GAD-7 (7 items), FSFI-19 (19 items), EQ-5D-5L (5 dimensions + EQ-VAS)- Paired hormonal panel: FSH, LH, estradiol, AMH, total testosterone, SHBG, free testosterone, DHEA-S — all measured pre-insertion and at the 12-month index visit in the same hospital laboratory using identical assay methodology
ETHICS AND DATA PROTECTIONThe study protocol was approved by the institutional ethics committee (approval no. 44-2026). All participants provided written informed consent, including consent for the use of de-identified data for research purposes. The dataset has been fully de-identified: no names, dates of birth, addresses, hospital identifiers, or other directly or indirectly identifying information are included. Each participant is represented by a sequential anonymous identifier (P001–P200).
ACCESS POLICYThis dataset is deposited under Restricted Access. Access requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, contingent on:(i) a clearly defined research question consistent with the original study aims;(ii) a signed data use agreement;(iii) approval from the Ethics Committee where required by the requestor's institution.
