Mesocosm 7: Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) data in seawater and in Diluted Chemically Enhanced Water-Accommodated Fraction (DCEWAF) of oil for LTOPOS, a Long Term Oil and Particle Oxidation Study

Mesocosm experiments were performed with seawater collected from Galveston Bay, Texas. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) were measured in filtered samples from two treatments: 1) control (seawater) and 2) Diluted Chemically-Enhanced Water-Accommodated Fraction (DCEWAF) of crude oil. PAHs from two fractions were collected: particle associated and dissolved. The extracted samples were analyzed on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
