Most popular mobile payment apps in Norway 2017

Vipps was the most popular mobile payment app in Norway in 2017. 60 percent of the respondents reported to be using Vipps in the evaluated period. PayPal Mobile followed, with 11 percent of the respondents using it, while mCash and MobilePay were used respectively by five and four percent of the interviewed Norwegians. 34 percent, however, answered that they did not use any mobile payment apps that year. As of 2018, 75 percent of the Norwegian consumers preferred card payment as a mobile payment method whereas 35 percent preferred PayPal and 23 preferred invoice or Vipps.  How do online shoppers pay?      Card payment was also the most preferred online payment method among online buyers in Norway in 2018, according to 86 percent of the respondents. PayPal was preferred by 42 percent of the Norwegians that year.  Online payments in the Nordics      Overall, card payment was the most popular payment method when online shopping in the Nordic countries in 2018. 92 percent of the interviewed Danes preferred card payments. Norway ranked second, by share of respondents who preferred card payment that year – 86 percent of the respondents.
