资源简介:
The data describe the sociodemographic profiles (gender, age, marital status, highest educational qualification, rank, years spent in service) frequency of forensic training and adaptability traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Methodicalness and Independence) of the Investigating Police Officers serving at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Departments in Zone 1 of the Nigeria Police. A survey was used to collect information related to the aforementioned variables from 401 respondents via a self-administered questionnaire. The null hypothesis was as follows: there was no association between frequency of forensic training and adaptability trait(s). The hypothesis was accepted. Thus, adaptability traits, which have the potential of influencing an individual's perception toward new knowledge or innovation, and perhaps its acceptance and utilization, were not likely considered in deciding who went for forensic training in the Nigerian Police agency. The implication is that the Nigeria Police agency was likely not making the best selection of officers who were sent for forensic science training.
