Here we report the gene expression data following bulk RNA sequencing used to identify the aldosterone-mediated cellular communication from cultured myotubes to fibroblasts isolated from neonatal hind limbs of wild-type (C57) and dystrophic mice (mdx). We found distinct transcriptional changes induced by aldosterone in myotubes, which in turn resulted in distinct transcriptional changes in the CM-treated fibroblasts. Overall design: Bulk RNA sequencing was performed on vehicle (DMSO, 0.001% v/v) or aldosterone (1 µM)-treated C57 and mdx myotubes following 48 hrs of treatment, and conditioned media (CM)-treated C57 and mdx fibroblasts. CM was collected from myotubes following 15 hrs of incubation with fresh media after 48 hrs of vehicle or aldosterone treatment. Primary myogenic progenitor cells (which were differentiated to myotubes) and fibroblasts were isolated from hindlimbs of neonatal (<5-day-old) C57 and mdx mice.
