Based on the theory of micrometeorology, functions and processes such as the productivity, energy partitioning and water use of natural oak forest ecosystems at a transitional area between subtropical and warm temperate zone were directly measured by the eddy covariance technique, which provided an important data basis for studying the mechanism of carbon and water cycle in forest ecosystems. This study takes a natural oak forest in Baotianman Ecological Research Station as the research object, and uses the eddy covariance system and environmental gradient system to conduct long-term positioning observation. The monitoring data from January 2017 to December 2018 were organized, quality controlled, and analyzed. Data variables include air temperature and humidity, soil temperature and humidity, wind speed, wind direction, photosynthetically active radiation, upward/downward shortwave radiation, upward/downward longwave radiation, net radiation, sensible heat flux, latent heat flux and carbon flux. The dataset is composed of the observation data on scales of half hour, day, month, and year, which is useful for studying the response and adaption mechanisms of typical forest ecosystems at transitional area between subtropical and warm temperate zone to climate change.
