资源简介:
This experiment is part of a series of experiments that investigates the role of the bed shear stress and near-bed flow to understand how offshore wave characteristics may correlate with onshore sediment transport. A new design of instrument for direct measurement of the bed shear stress has been developed and is here deployed in the initially dry region above but very close to the still water line. The leading tsunami waveform is modelled as several different types of long waves including the solitary wave, a solitary bore, and leading depression N-waves. Varying wave amplitudes of these waves are tested.
NB: Location 3 is the most offshore location on the test platform. The test platform is installed between bays 15 and 16. Trials 3-10 - Solitary Waves. Trials 11-18 - Bores. Trials 19-22 - Double Solitary Waves. Trials 23-30 - LDN Waves. Trial 1 - Abandoned because test platform moved slightly during trial. Trial 2 - Checking whether test platform is rigidly held with solitary wave of H/h=0.4. ADV1's internal temperature sensor malfunctioning throughout experiment. The velocities reported have to be corrected for by the ratio of speeds of sound at the true temperature to the speed of sound at the incorrect temperature reported by ADV1.
