Preparation of Rape Pollen and Maca Chewable Tablets and Their Application in the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

This project focuses on the study of rape pollen and maca, which are both medicinal and edible substances. The research content is primarily divided into the following aspects:Firstly, the preparation process for Rape Pollen and Maca Chewable Tablets was determined through single-factor investigation. Furthermore, an HPLC method was established for quantifying four chemical components in the tablets, and a corresponding fingerprint was developed.Secondly, a rat model of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) was established by intraperitoneal injection of a testosterone propionate-olive oil solution. The pharmacological effects of the Rape Pollen and Maca Chewable Tablets on BPH were evaluated by calculating the prostate index, performing HE staining for pathological analysis, measuring serum inflammatory factors, sex hormones, and oxidative stress levels. Additionally, Western blot analysis was used to detect the expression levels of related proteins in rat prostate tissue.Thirdly, changes in the rat gut microbiota were analyzed using 16S rDNA sequencing to investigate the impact of the Rape Pollen and Maca Chewable Tablets on the intestinal microflora.
