EIF2AK2 regulates the apoptotic genes in pancreatic beta cell damage associated with diabetes mellitus

This study revealed that the biological roles of EIF2AK2 in islet cell apoptosis and inflammation can be predicted by its regulatory network. These roles may be mediated via the modulation of apoptosis-related gene transcription and alternative splicing. This connection might be crucial for the pathogenesis and progression of DM.
