资源简介:
This dataset contains 226 valid TikTok video titles centered on the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law (MIL-DIL) relationship, collected in February 2026 via the keyword "mother-in-law and daughter-in-law" on the TikTok platform. The original sample pool included 1,027 titles, which were processed through automated deduplication (removing 635 duplicates) and manual verification (retaining the highest-like titles for duplicate content from the same account) to form the final dataset. Each entry in the dataset includes core information: serial number, video like count (ranging from 500+ to 510,000 likes), original Chinese video title, and transcribed English title. The dataset is divided into high-like (top 25%), medium-like (middle 50%), and low-like (bottom 25%) groups by like count for comparative analysis, and all titles are coded for identity positioning (MIL as insider/outsider/ambivalent figure/unclassified), discursive strategies (negative labeling/positive labeling/distancing markers, etc.) and narrative perspective (DIL/MIL/third-party/unclear) based on a standardized coding framework. This dataset is the empirical foundation for the study Discursive Reconstruction of the Differential Mode of Association: Identity Negotiation Between Mothers-in-Law and Daughters-in-Law in TikTok Titles, which explores the discursive construction of MIL identity in digital public space and the reconstruction of Fei Xiaotong’s differential mode of association in the platform era. It can be used for research on Chinese family relations, digital discourse analysis, short video platform content research, and gender studies, and supports quantitative statistical analysis, qualitative case analysis, and cross-group comparative analysis of MIL-DIL narrative characteristics and communication effects.
