Entacmaea quadricolor, Condylactis gigantea Assembly. Sea anemones

Sea anemones are known to have a wide arrays of toxins. Two sea anemones, Entacmaea quadricolor and Condylactis gigantea were analyzed for their ion channel and toxin composition. These two sea anemones were chosen for their differences in hosting mutualistic clownfishes. Transcriptome analysis was performed using RNA-seq and proteome analysis was performed using MS/MS for the tentacle tissue and column tissue of the two animals. The genes obtained from transcriptome analysis were annotated using toxins available in public databases and the annotation was verified using proteome analysis.
