This dataset contains the minimal anonymized data necessary to replicate the findings of the study titled "Metabolic Syndrome, Social Isolation, and Sarcopenia in Mild Cognitive Impairment: A Multi-Faceted Analysis of Risk Factors and Mediating Pathways" (Manuscript ID: PONE-D-25-33355). The data were collected from a cohort of older adults in rural and urban settings, with variables spanning four critical domains:
1. Demographics: Age, gender, residence type (rural/urban), marital status, education level
2. Lifestyle Factors: Smoking history, alcohol consumption frequency
3. Health Outcomes:
- Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) status
- Social isolation (binary) and social score (continuous)
- Sarcopenia indicator (ASM, Appendicular Skeletal Muscle Index)
4. Metabolic and Physiological Markers:
- Metabolic syndrome components (METS-IR, VAI, AIP, nHDL)
- Residual cholesterol, eGFR (kidney function)
- Frailty index (continuous) and frailty status (binary)
