Study on Level of Living and Local Communities in Bergen, 1996

The dataset is retrieved from "Study on Level of Living and Local Communities in Bergen", which was carried out by Statistics Norway in 1996 on commission from Bergen Municipality.

Bergen Municipality wished to learn the consequences related to the accumulation of poor living conditions. The focus of the survey has been on neighborhoods, measuring conditions related to safety, availability of important resources and neighborly contact. It was assumed that the physical and social qualities of neighborhoods impact quality of life, and that these qualities vary between neighborhoods and stratums in the population. The survey distinguishes between the immediate surrounding area of the neighborhood, and what services, stores etc. are available within a 15-minute walk from the home.
