Aquaculture Experimental Areas

The location of experimental areas for a number of projects being conducted by the Centre for Applied Marine Sciences (SEACAMs) at Bangor University. As part of current and upcoming projects; Irish Sea Portal Pilot (ISPP), Menai Offshore Subsurface Shellfish Systems (MOSSS) and the Shellfish Centre, Bangor University will be testing viability of shellfish production under conditions at this site - both technical and environmental, whilst collecting environmental data and modelling the hydrodynamics and carrying capacity of the site, in order to identify suitable offshore production areas around the Welsh coast.
