Repository for the analyses in "A bone tool used by Neanderthal for flaying carcasses at the Abri du Maras (France)" by Doyon et al.

This repository contains the surface texture data, R script, and surface texture acquisition obtained via confocal microscopy (MarSurf CM portable confocal microscope) used in the analyses for the manuscript entitled “A bone tool used by Neanderthal for flaying carcasses at the Abri du Maras (France)”. The surface texture dataset includes ISO 25178, SSFA, furrow analyses and texture direction data from archaeological and experimental specimens. Access to the experimental acquisitions will be provided upon request to the corresponding author. The repository also includes a README file describing data structure and instructions for running the R script.
