Specimen 02: Steel cruciform specimen (seat configuration) subjected to in plane pseudo-static cyclic reverse lateral loading.

This experiment is of a half-scale steel (ASTM A992 Grade 50) cruciform beam-column subassemblage comprised of a column and 2 half length beams at either end of the column. Specimen 2 uses the seated-type enhanced gravity connection that was developed as part of this research project. The specimen was loaded quasi-statically using a modified version of the FEMA 461 loading protocol up to drifts of 9%. The objective was to evaluate the hysteretic behavior and seismic performance of a new type of enhanced gravity connection.
