VPRS 6003 Minute Books

This series consists of the Minute Books of the Committee of Classifiers, responsible for the classification of teachers and schools and the appointment of teachers by transfer or promotion to advertised vacancies in schools.Minutes of the meetings of the classifiers are recorded. At times that there was more than one meeting in a week and time was spent on ongoing regular business such as the classification of teachers and schools, one set of minutes was written summarising the week's business. Items of special business were those elaborated upon and specially minuted. The minutes of initial meetings are accompanied by transcripts of both inwards and outwards correspondence with persons such as the Premier and the Secretary of the Education Department and memoranda recording meetings between the Committee and other officials or of deputations.
