VPRS 14445 Register of Appeals, Dry Areas

This series registers appeals made by settlers in non-irrigated (or dry areas) against certain aspects of their leases and their allotments. The majority of the appeals registered were for revaluation of the land, for the reduction of instalments or against the perception that the area allotted was too small to ensure a living.Details given are the number allocated to the appeal, the name and address of the appellant, the date the appeal was received and the grounds for the appeal. The remainder of the details record the progress of the appeal and its eventual resolution with the date the matter was referred to the Minister and his decision, the date of reference to an Appeal Board, a list of the valuers and witnesses examined, the decision of the appeal board and the Minister's confirmation of that decision or rejection of it.
