From July 18 - August 12, 2024, (Honolulu, Hawai’i to Honolulu, Hawai’i), NOAA Ocean Exploration conducted the Beyond the Blue: Papahānaumokuākea Mapping 2 expedition (EX2404), a mapping expedition to the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. EX2404 mapped 77,183 sq. km of seafloor, 76,072 sq. km were in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone in water depths greater than 200 meters.
