California Recreational Fisheries Survey 1' Block-Box - R7 - CDFW [ds3260]

A systematic polygonal grid that divides the coastal waters of California into 1 minute latitude-longitude cells (approximately 1-by-1 nautical mile) which are used by the California Recreational Fisheries Survey (CRFS) project to gather recreational fisheries information statewide. Blocks are clipped to the California shoreline. In the survey data, these cells are referred as block-boxes, but are sometimes referred to as Microblocks.

These block-boxes were updated on Jan 1, 2025 to align with the new commercial fishing blocks south of the U.S. - Mexico border.
