Data Objective The primary goal is to make the internationally used ICD-10-CM codes more accessible to the Japanese medical and research community. It also aims to provide foundational data for comparing and analyzing differences in medical coding between Japan and the United States. Methodology (Methods) The translation and construction of this dataset were performed personally by me (I). Source Data: The latest ICD-10-CM data published by CMS (e.g., files such as icd10cm_codes_2026.txt) was used as the primary source. Translation: All code descriptions were translated into Japanese. Japanese Version Mapping: The final column includes cross-reference (matching) information with the Japanese ICD codes or corresponding Japanese medical classification systems. Terms of Use and Acknowledgements This data is based on the original source published by CMS; however, the translation and mapping are my independent research output and do not represent the official views of CMS or the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW). Users are advised to be aware of this fact and utilize the data strictly for academic research purposes.
