Dataset sEFSA - Interpretation and Production (Dutch, French, German)

The project contains the results of a survey (n=152) where we have investigated how Dutch-, French-, and German-native speakers interpret and produce English verbal probability expressions (VPEs). Popular synonyms for VPEs which can be found in literature are judgment terms, probabilistic phrases, probability terms, or uncertainty expressions. The VPEs under investigation were "(Almost) impossible", "unlikely", "about as likely as not", "likely", and "(almost) certain". The five terms are a subset of "approximate probability scale" of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) which is why we refer to the subset as "sEFSA".

The projects describes the study design and contains the dataset that resulted from the survey, an analysis on the dataset, and the software to create and analyze the dataset.
