Palaeogenomic and stable isotope data were obtained from seven individuals of an extinct two-humped camel species, Camelus knoblochi, dated to between circa 79 to 29 thousand years ago. We try to reconstruct the phylogenetic relationship between this extinct species and extant camels, and investigate the potential interspecific gene flow among them. We also try to infer the reasons for the extinction of Camelus knoblochi.
