The effect of TRPM7 kinase inactivation on expression levels of the genes involved in insulin production and cell cycle regulation in pancreatic islets

To investigate the function of TRPM7 kinase in the regulation of insulin production and beta cell proliferation, we used a mouse model harboring a single point mutation at the active site of the enzyme Trpm7tm1.1Mkma (K1646R, Trpm7R/R) We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of isolated islets of Trpm7R/R mice and their control littermates after 16 weeks exposure to the obesogenic diet Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data for isolated islets of Trpm7R/R mice and their control littermates (3 mice per genotype)
