This project aims to identify the target of a 2-piperazino-pyrimidine compound (FPSA) which exhibites antimalarial activity against asexual stage Plasmodium falciparum. Resistant parasites were generated by in vitro evolution with continues FPSA treatment. 5 clones of the resistant parasites were generated and the genomic DNA of these monoclones were extracted for whole genome sequencing and the following identification of variants that are responsitive to the resistance.
