Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen from the old and new (dBEF) monoculture plots in 2020

We assessed the soil organic carbon and total nitrogen content in the bulk soil of 120 monoculture plots, comprising both old and new plots. The old monoculture plots, originally established in 2002, feature a diverse range of 60 plant species, whereas the new monoculture plots, also with 60 species, were established in 2016. The soil of the new monoculture plots was replaced by soil of an adjacent arable field, and the plots were sown with seeds from the same seed supplier as done in 2002. The soil sampling campaign was conducted between May 18th and June 5th, 2020.
