Online survey data collected from five fisheries from the Northeast Pacific and Northwest Atlantic United States used to assess the perceptions of risks to their fisheries and adaptive capacity to those risks. Data was collected from during the fall of 2022 through the winter of 2022/23 using Qualtrics Research Software Suite.

Data was collected via the online survey platform - Qualtrics Research Software Suite during the fall of 2022 through the winter of 2022/23. The collection effort was part of a larger project that worked with five commercial fisheries to understand their perceptions of risks on their livelihoods. The five fisheries are as follows: Alaskan Directed Halibut IFQ (abbreviated in data as Halibut), Bering Sea Pollock Catcher/Processor (Pollock), Central Gulf of Alaska Trawl homeported in Kodiak (CGOA), Atlantic Sea Scallop (Scallop), and Northeast Multispecies Groundfish (Groundfish). Data here includes: (1) Files with the nomenclature Survey_(fishery short name)Fishery.csv include data collected from the survey. These five files with data for Halibut, Pollock, CGOA trawl, Scallop, and Groundfish fisheries have been stripped of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and are available upon request from the authors for researchers with an IRB or equivalent at their institution. (2) Files with the nomenclature (fishery short name)_key.csv contain a list of all survey questions for each fishery. The short names in these files match the short names in the survey data files. Note, there will be more questions in this file because some PII data was deleted from the survey data to maintain participant confidentiality. (3) one file called list_of_risks.csv contains a list of all risks with short and long names assessed in the surveys. The list of risks was modified from part one (focus groups) of this project based on conversations with representatives of each fishery that aimed to refine risks, improve clarity, and ensure that all were still relevant.
