In this study, we present the draft genome sequence for Brochothrix thermosphacta 160x8. This strain was isolated in 1981 from a piece of horse meat stored on air. The draft genome will contribute to understand the role of B.thermosphacta species in spoilage of food products through comparative genomics with other strains.
