METHODS FOR NON-TRANSGENIC GENOME EDITING IN PLANTS
收藏资源简介:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods that can precisely alter a plant genome in a targeted way without using conventional transgenic strategies. SOLUTION: Disclosed herein is a method for targeted plant gene modification without inserting exogenous genetic materials, which comprises the steps of: (i) providing a plant cell having an endogenous gene to be modified; (ii) providing a sequence-specific nuclease comprising a sequence-recognition domain and a nuclease domain; (iii) transfecting the plant cell using the sequence-specific nuclease; and (iv) inducing one or more of double-stranded DNA breaks (DSBs) in the genome to produce one or more plant cells having a detectable targeted genomic modification without the presence of any exogenous genetic material in the plant genome.
