VPRS 6822 Index to Titles Search Notes Files

This series provides an index to the majority of the title search notes files known as 'volumes' or 'books' with VPRS 6821. There are two indexes in this series that appear to cover two district periods. Neither of these indexes identify the names of any individuals. Index 1907 - ?1930 According to an annotation inside the front cover, this index was created from 8 January 1907. It is unclear when this index ends although this will probably be around 1930 when the second index was known to commence. The entries in this index are arranged alphabetically by the names of Victoria's land parishes. (there are also several other entries, such as mineral and water rights.) Pages simply record the page number containing the search notes in VPRS 6821 and  what appears to be a mining lease number.  Period 1930 - 1947 This index covers search notes  from rough page 1380 (during 1930) in VPRS 6821 to the end of that series. Entries in this index are arranged according to the names of Victoria's mining districts and also contain some additional headings. For every district, each page is divided into three columns headed 'number' (probably a lease number), 'page' and 'parish'. In most cases the page number is the sole identifier to the relevant search notes in VPRS 6821. In a small number of cases, the page entry is a dual number (for example 16/7644). The first number (in this example, 16) refers to the number of the volume or book number within VPRS 6821, and the second number (in this example, 7644) refers to the page number within that book and number.
