ACS （American Community Survey）

The American Community Survey (ACS) is an annual survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, which collects information from samples drawn from the institutionalized and non-institutionalized populations of the United States, as well as the sampling frame of Puerto Rico via the Puerto Rico Community Survey (PRCS). The survey covers a wide range of topics, including age, gender, race, household relationships, income and welfare, health insurance, education, veteran status, disability, and housing characteristics. Annually, ACS surveys approximately 3 million housing addresses across the United States, while in Puerto Rico, it implements a 2.5% sample covering the population residing in group quarters and 36,000 addresses. In 2010, the consolidated annual ACS replaced the decennial census long-form questionnaire. The core objective of the ACS is to furnish federal, state, and local governments with timely data to support their planning of public investments and services.
