资源简介:
As part of the overall OSMOSIS (Ocean Surface Mixing, Ocean Submesoscale Interaction Study) project, multiple ocean gliders were deployed in the vicinity of the Porcupine Abyssal Plain (PAP), in the North Atlantic Ocean, from September 2012 to September 2013. Gliders were deployed from the RRS Discovery, the RRS James Cook, and the R/V Celtic Explorer. This project studies the interface between the ocean surface boundary layer and the atmosphere, and offers insight into how these systems function and evolve over time. OSMOSIS is a collaboration between scientists at various universities (University of Reading, University of Oxford, University of Bangor, University of Southampton and University of East Anglia) together with researchers at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) and Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML).
