Summaries of transcribed interview data from nine senior officials and nine senior industrialists gathered under condition of anonymity concerning their personal experience in creating, implementing and responding to changes in defence industrial strategy (DIS). The data cover the industrial strategy elements of the 1998 Strategic Defence Review and the three subsequent issues of DIS in 2005, 2012 and 2021. The semi-structured interviews were conducted against a previously submitted list of questions. The process was compliant with the Department’s ethical clearance SREC/20230321.
