The response of ectomycorrhizal, arbuscular mycorrhizal and nonsymbiotic fungi to tree diversity in a temperate forest

This study explores how soil conditions and the mix of arbuscular (AM) and ectomycorrhizal (ECM) trees shape fungal biomass and community composition in a temperate forest. It shows that soil properties are the strongest drivers, while fungal biomass peaks in stands with a balanced proportion of AM and ECM trees.
