This dataset contains all the data used in the article by Maria Dolores Hidalgo-Galvez et al. 2026, entitled "Semi-arid grasses combine contrasting strategies of dehydration tolerance associated carbohydrate storage and embolism resistance under drought", and published in Journal of Experimental Botany. Based on a pot drought experiment, the data describe plant tissue dehydration dynamics, embolism resistance (P50), and water-soluble carbohydrates (WSCs) in four grasses (Stipa species and Dactylis subspecies) native to the Western Mediterranean.
