This study investigated the pathogenesis, immunology and viral shedding of SARS-CoV-2 in domestic cats. Twelve cats were intranasally infected using a Dutch isolate of SARS-CoV-2. Humoral and T-cell-mediated antiviral responses were characterized over time in relation to viral loads, viral shedding and pathological changes. RNA sequencing was performed on CD4 and CD8 T-cell subsets in uninfected cats and in cats 2, 4, 7 or 14 days post-infection (n=3 per time point).
