DWAS Historical Residual Structure, 1989–2022, Version 1.0 documents a twelve-wave harmonized reconstruction of household productive-ownership residual structure using U.S. Survey of Consumer Finances data from 1989 through 2022. The study examines the systematic difference between the observed cumulative productive-ownership distribution and the fitted two-parameter DWAS reference curve, D(p). Across the historical reconstruction, the cumulative residual exhibits a persistent broad deformation: the observed distribution falls increasingly below the fitted reference curve into the low-to-mid 90s percentiles, then recovers rapidly and crosses the reference curve near the 99th percentile or above. The exact 2022 classified benchmark independently reproduces the same qualitative structure. The reported pivot locations are empirical regions rather than fixed thresholds, and the extreme-top reversal is especially uncertain because it is determined by very few observations. The archive preserves reconstructed code, derived household-level vectors for all twelve SCF waves, dense residual curves, local residual-band diagnostics, exact-2022 residual outputs, figures, checkpoint validation, and official-source provenance verification. The original historical constructor was not recovered; the retained constructor is explicitly identified as a validated reconstruction of the documented historical method, not as the original program. The harmonized historical reconstruction is distinct from the exact 2022 DWAS Productive Ownership Benchmark Methodology v1.0 classification. That distinction is preserved so that longitudinal historical comparability is not confused with current benchmark authority. The SCF Summary Extract provenance gate is closed for all twelve waves. Official-equivalence verification records PASS for every wave. Raw Federal Reserve microdata and Summary Extract files are not redistributed; source identifiers and hashes needed for independent verification are preserved in the archive.
