Hanseniaspora mollemarum CBS 18055

The Hanseniaspora genus has gained attention due to the ability of its species to ferment simple sugars and to actively contribute to the development of bouquet aromas in wine, ciders and spirits fermentations. The recent addition of the Hanseniaspora mollemarum species to the genus potentially broaden the range of strains for such applications. We present the sequencing and annotation of an isolate of H. mollemarum CBS 18055 isolated from the bark of an apple tree from the South of France. This high quality genome assembly represents the first chromosome level assembly of a H. mollemarum strain.
