Convergent mantle flow and plate kinematics contribute to South China Sea rifting
收藏资源简介:
Data Repository for manuscript: Convergent mantle flow and plate kinematics contribute to South China Sea rifting This repository contains the supplementary data and visualization files for the global mantle convection models, including a restarted variant of Model 1 (under free-slip condition), presented in the manuscript. The repository is organized into the following directories: dynamic_topography: Contains the global dynamic topography grids (.grd format) for Model 1 and Model 2 at selected geological ages. Paraview_demo: Contains the visualization datasets for the mantle flow models, including subducted slabs, velocity arrows, and topology boundaries. Usage: To visualize the models, open State_of_Model1.pvsm, State_of_Model2.pvsm, or State_of_Model1(restarted).pvsm in ParaView, select "Search files under specified directory" when prompted, and click "OK". Plane_velocity: Contains global plane velocity components at the surface (0 km) and 250 km depth for both models, spanning from 60 Ma to 0 Ma. The CSV files include latitude, longitude, Vlat, Vlon, and the resultant Vplain magnitude. (Note: The Vplain components provided here are used to generate the surface velocity figures and animations in the manuscript). Pressure_anomaly_at_250km & Temperature_anomaly_at_250km: Contain global pressure and temperature anomalies, respectively, at a depth of 250 km (in NetCDF format). The pressure anomaly directory also includes data for Model1(restarted). seismic_wave_speed_anomalies: Contains two 3D NetCDF files storing the global seismic P-wave velocity anomalies (converted from temperature anomalies) for both models. The data covers all depth layers from the surface down to the core-mantle boundary (CMB). stress_at_30km: Contains the Cenozoic stress tensor data for the convection models at a depth of 30 km. Each CSV file consists of six columns: latitude, longitude, SHmax, SHmax_direction (angle between SHmax and the East direction), SHmin, and SHmin_direction (angle between SHmin and the East direction). The unit of the stress is MPa. Surface_divergence: Contains the surface (0 km) dilation rate of the restarted Model 1 at selected ages (in NetCDF format).
