Cilia are antenna-like organelles present on the surface of almost all human cells, and are broadly classified into primary cilia and motile cilia. Primary cilia transduce external signals into cells, and motile cilia are involved in the formation of fluid flows such as cerebrospinal fluid. Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is caused by abnormalities in motile cilia, presenting with chronic respiratory disease, situs inversus, and infertility. RNA-binding protein LARP6 has been reported to regulate the formation of motile cilia in Xenopus epidermis multi-ciliated cells (MMCs). However, the mechanism underlying ciliogenesis in MCCs controlled by LARP6 remains unknown. To elucidate this mechanism, target RNAs of LARP6 had been searched. The target RNAs of LARP6 in Xenopus embryos were co-precipitated with overexpressed HA-tagged LARP6 by HA antibody. The cDNA libraries were prepared from precipitated RNAs and sequenced.
