Manistee National Forest (MI) northern hardwood fruit production data from 2008 to 2011

Data was collected every summer from 2008 to 2011. For each tree an estimated number of fruit was recorded annually. Other data were recorded once during the study, including soil nutrient availability, tree diameter, tree height, and position of neighboring trees. Data was collected for 10 northern hardwood species at 12 locations in the Manistee National Forest, MI. An additional subset of trees was fertilized annually, and annual estimates of fruit production were recorded from 2010 to 2011. The purpose of this data was to observe inter-annual variability in fruit production, and test how tree size, nutrient availability, and neighborhood crowding affect the amount of fruit produced.
